• Language Vocabulary Flashcards: Now, you can easily create flashcards for language vocabulary, enhancing your language learning experience with specific vocab cards.

• Definition Type Flashcards: Added definition-type flashcards to help you better remember and understand key terms and concepts.

• Custom Instructions (Beta): Fine-tune the output of your flashcards in all three modes with the new custom instructions feature. Tailor your study sessions to suit your specific needs.

• Mobile Responsive Flashcard Container: The flashcard container view is now fully mobile responsive, eliminating horizontal overflow issues on smaller devices.

• Optimized Navigation Bar: The navigation bar for toggling between different modes is now optimized for mobile devices, ensuring a smoother user experience.

• New Review Settings Screen: When you press the Review button now, there is a new review settings screen to allow shuffling as well as fine tune which topics are reviewed during the review session! This review settings screen has also been modernised with mobile optimisation.

• Model Selection Removal: Removed model selection in MCQs and cloze, as it did not affect results, simplifying the process.

• Dark Mode Color Toggle: Fixed the color toggle for the questions model selector in dark mode.

• Review Session Fix: Addressed the issue where pressing the wrong button during a review session would jump out of the session.

• Accurate Page Count: Fixed the total pages count in the page range selector to display the actual total pages count instead of 0.

• Dark Mode Review Screen: Fixed issues with the review screen in dark mode for a consistent look.

• Settings Toggle: Added a settings toggle in the profile dropdown for easier access to your settings.

1. We have added a loading indicator to the page selection boxes to indicate something is happening.

2. The "next" button is disabled in the page selection boxes until the boxes have been rendered to avoid the "0 character bug".

3. Encrypted PDFs now show a custom error message immediatley after uploading so that you can know that your PDF has been encrypted and cannot be read by our engine.

✨ Custom Number of Cards:

By popular demand, you can now customize how many cards are generated per PDF page. Choose from concise, detailed, or an exact number of cards. Please note selecting "Quality Mode" can ensure this selected mode is enforced properly. This is still in beta and we will continue to fine-tune the amount output. (We observe sometimes Speed mode might not adhere to the exact number selected for certain pages)

🃏 Add Flashcards:

Another frequently requested feature is here! Easily add new flashcards when you scroll to the bottom of the page, seamlessly integrating them into the current selection. This is saved and you can review them with our review tool, or export them to Anki / Quizlet and other flashcard apps.

🃏 Delete Flashcards Quicker With One Click:

From the popular request above, you can now delete cards instantly using the new trash button. We have replaced the existing dropdown menu instead.

📑 Enhanced Page Selection:

With our new shift-select functionality, bulk selects or deselect pages effortlessly in the page selection screen.

• 📄 Added a PDF splitter feature, allowing you to select specific pages of your PDF to import into PDF2Anki and generate flashcards. By default, all pages are selected. But you can individually select and opt-out of certain pages if needed to remove irrelevant slides/pages or to reduce the character count to fit the current 50,000 limit.

• 🛠️ Error messages now show how many characters of your PDF have been exceeded. Handy when you need to deselect some pages in the page selector.

• 🔄 Fixed most of the topic generation error issues. If this still occurs, consider removing some pages to lower the character count when importing your PDF. We're on it to smooth this out even more!

• 🌐 Added a PDF viewer document fallback to prevent whole-page crashes. Study without interruptions!

• ⚡ Added frontend instant response for PDFs larger than 50MB. To get around this, consider decreasing the PDF size using a PDF file compressor.

Thanks to valuable user feedback, particularly from the above user, we've introduced a revolutionary update in flashcard creation. Before generating flashcards, our AI, Zuki, meticulously reviews the entire PDF to identify the top 10 topics. You can now edit these topics directly via our user-friendly interface. All flashcards are neatly categorized under these topics, allowing for organized learning and easy navigation. Toggle between page view and topic view with just a click beside the regenerate button!

🔍 Switch Seamlessly Between Topics and Pages

Navigate through your flashcards by topic or page. The new dropdown menu facilitates effortless swapping between topics, presenting all relevant cards under each. Plus, every flashcard now bears a topic tag alongside the page number for better organization.

📝 Introducing Exam Mode (Beta for Pro & Ultra Users)

Elevate your preparation with our new exam generation mode. Tailored for Pro and Ultra subscribers, this feature crafts personalized short answer question (SAQ) exams with automatic marking, feedback, and a study plan.

It is still in beta, you can check your current usage amount in settings > usage. Do leave us feedback about any issues/suggestions!

• 🎨 Added Quality Mode: Dive into the settings to activate the new Quality Mode for note generation. Experience significantly improved notes across all four types - bullet point notes, summaries, Cornell notes, and tables. This mode ensures more detailed, thorough, and holistic note-taking. Please check your quota in settings for this new mode.

  Thanks to Ban's feedback above, we have now made this a toggle option to be disabled from the default behaviour introduced in the last update in settings.

  

  Thanks to the feedback above posted to the Anki community forums, we have also added an option to disable the deck title in the Anki card template in the settings to override the default behaviour introduced in the last update.

  Navigate to the new configuration page to tailor your flashcard generation, review, and AI settings to your preference. Highlights include:

  • Character Cut-Off: Adjust the minimum number of characters (0-100) needed on a page for generating cards. By default, it's set to 5 characters.

  • Display Deck Name in Card Template: Choose to show or hide the deck name in your card template, aiding in identifying the current deck during review sessions.

  • Display Deck Page Number in Review: Toggle the visibility of the deck page number on your card template, helping you trace the flashcard's origin within your notes.

  • Create Tags for Page Numbers in Anki Cards: Enable or disable the auto-tagging of page numbers in your Anki card templates for better organization.
